Strikes were only ever deemed „legal“ to quell the certain BLOODSHED that naturally came with them.

The same with the regulations that came to force companies against hiring replacement workers.

Strikes are not illegal, because of provisions in the constitution.

These demonstrations and actions have been regulated to try to bring violence out of an inherently confrontational situation.

When regulations start to favour an imbalance – than things just return to the way it was.

No way the supreme court of Canada would have sided with the company or the government in this case.

Spraying a bunch of flight attends in the face with pepper balls and freezing the bank accounts of every union member likely would have caused a boiled over.

Both air Canada the Canadian government brought that situation to where violence wasn’t going to be optional any more.

They should be remembered for that. Being forced to be reasonable isn’t even close to playing by the rules.
