    1. The government has compiled a schedule for reusing the contaminated soil in Fukushima Prefecture, resulting from the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, starting in September at approximately 10 central government offices in Tokyo and Kasumigaseki. The government also plans to consider reusing the soil in areas outside Tokyo, such as branch offices of each ministry and local source agencies. If implemented, this will be the first time decontaminated soil has been reused in regional areas. A new expert council will also be established around autumn to coordinate the final disposal.

In July, the government reused decontaminated soil in the front garden of the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Nagatacho, Tokyo. The aim is to increase the number of cases of use in central government ministries and agencies and to give momentum to the stagnant reuse efforts. Central government ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are using the soil for flower beds and mounds.

Why would they need to spend money on this seriously? Just continue to decontaminate and let the cleaned soil from where it belongs.
