Free this guy!!! He did Europe a favor! Otherwise we would never have ended gas-imports from Russia.

Too incompetent to vanish the responsible people into Ukraine long ago. Great job guys! German government pretends to be deaf-blind for you and you still manage to get caught.
I find it utterly insane how some people defended this attack. Imagine trying to convince a country to help yoimu by blowing up their infra structure. Also a bit funny how originally a lot of people were blaming Russia on it, when it never made much sense.
People should not forget that this operation would be impossible without help/approval of agencies like Mi6 or CIA. Not a chance Ukrainians would do that without a green light from Washington.

Italy? How was Italy affected by the whole thing? Sweden and Denmark both closed investigations due to the lack of sufficient grounds for criminal pursuit.

Incredibly dumb action by Ukraine. Nothing gained and damaged relations and trust for maybe decades. Chances for EU/NATO accession were already extremely slim, this just made it worse.

I feel like it’s extremely important to remind people who will no doubt be commenting about how this guy deserves a high five as a punishment that Germany is, believe it or not, a sovereign country and you can’t just blow their shit up because it pisses you off. It’s actually sad seeing even some Germans grovel like this before the world. Sad. Thank god that pipelines was blown up, Russian or Ukranian work, idc. The Germans were too dependent on Russian Gas, and this planned one was moving Germany in a worse direction.

The fact that Ukraine blew up critical EU energy infrastructure, and the EU pretended that nothing happened and swallowed it completely for three years tells you all you need to know about the pathetic quality of the current EU politicians.

When it happened people were mortified and blamed Russia. Turns out, Ukrainians did it, and people are cheering on. This was critical EU energy infrastructure ffs.
How are there so many people in the comments praising an attack on key EU infrastructure. Even if you support closing the pipeline, it is a German/EU decision to make, not a Ukrainian one.
Would be great if people that think that Ukraine can run free and blow shit up in Europe because they have been attacked by Russia would take a second of their day to think about the implications. It’s a madhouse in here.

I am skeptical that the Ukrainians would do this by themselves. If so, this was a ludicrously short sighted idea.
Germany is among Ukraine’s principal supporters and blowing up nordstream may have hurt Germany more than Russia. Higher wholesale power prices haven’t exactly helped German manufacturing.
Maybe the saboteurs owned stock in US LNG shippers?

How bad is NBC?
NS2 had minor damage but was never in service anyway. NS1 was destroyed but had been already [closed by russia](https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/aug/31/nord-stream-1-russia-switches-off-gas-pipeline-citing-maintenance) a couple of weeks earlier (for bogus reasons).
The bombings had little to do with „squeezing energy supplies“ on the continent.

Wait NBC just openly admits it was Ukraine that carried out a bomb attack on German infrastructure? They said that was a conspiracy theory and Putin blew it up before. I remember someone ridiculing me for saying it wasnt Putin. What happened?
It’s funny how almost the only people complaining about the pipelines being blown up are those who aren’t from Germany. After the invasion, everyone was fed up with the rampant corruption surrounding the two pipelines. And if we’re honest, as soon as the war ended, gas would have flowed through the pipelines to Germany. To show goodwill towards Russia that they had stopped killing children. And so that we wouldn’t have to change anything in Germany. If we’re not forced to by outside forces, we won’t change a thing in this country. Just carry on as before, don’t think about the future. The only good thing about this whole mess is that we can’t go back because the pipelines were blown up.

I am pretty sure how this will go on
It will soon get clear that this ukrainian was working for putin. Probably a letter or putins personal cellphonenumber will be found hidden in one of his pockets.
The guy will then admit everything that he worked for russia.
I am still twisted if its for money, or, because russia has his familie. So basically it will turn out the guy is basically innocent an its all putin.
Germany will call for an article 4 consultation but the other countries, especially america will not – even it was an Attack on germam critical Infrastrukture – go for Article 5.
But, however, it will be obvious that we need to maintain sanctions even after ukrain peace and the military spending need to continue.
That is my guess how this evolves.
