Also cops would no longer have to show a crime has been committed in order to investigate anyone, only their belief that a crime might occur will be enough.

Basically it is a backdoor dismantling on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the name of „saving the children“. But it applies to much more of your life, online and offline.
