Because there’s bigger plans at play that have nothing to do with what the people want.

They’re not scared of him, they’re scared of the nutjobs who support him.

This is a silly question. Trump has complete control over all three branches of government, including DOJ, FBI, CIA, and SCOTUS. He removed all guardrails, checks and balances. He can do anything he wants without consequences.

I’ve known Trump since the 80s. Never could understand the fascination with him. He’s phony, crooked, sleazy, immoral, and not very intelligent. Being from NY, I can’t help but chuckle at the malleability of many conservatives. His base is billionaires and a huge number of poorly educated people who worship him last like they’re in a cult.
