„The proposal is backed by 57% of California voters and opposed by 35%…

California currently has 43 congressional seats held by Democrats and nine by Republicans. The creation of five new Democratic-friendly districts could sway California’s delegation to a 48-5 advantage for Democrats…“

I really hope this passes, and other Democratic states follow suit.

It’ll be interesting in 2026 when California tries to send its new congressional delegates to Washington D.C. and they’re met by the muzzles of several state’s worth of federalized National Guard soldiers and told to fuck off back to the coast.

    3. Newsom is a bit of a dick, but that’s what we need right now to confront Trumps power grab.

      Jfc.

    5. Way to go, California! Nice to see Newsom kickin‘ some Republikan ass.

      That’s what Democrats need!!

Funny enough today I received my first poster in the mail opposing this. Fuck em. Let’s go California and vote on November 4th!

    7. Good, no more nice guy BS. Play time is over, the goal is to save what’s left of the democracy by any means necessary.

    8. I would be tremendously amused if California Gerrymanders 5 additional seats to the Democrats, and the Texas Gerrymander gets thrown out in a court case…

    9. This moment in time is profoundly damaging to our nation and society, but blue states have no chouch but to play the same game while criticizing it.

    10. If Texas goes thru with redistricting Calif should as well. As should other democratic states.

Has anyone done the math on which side wins if all red and blue states maximize gerrymandering, and when does the civil war begin?
