It should be tit for tat, but Japan can claim « exotic labor, and parts », and make a racket. However, if successful overseas, they will start the racketeering in Japan as well, and claim the country is still bankrupt.
And when we complain or wont pay it they will have to decide to work it put or make them here. This is basic economics that hasn’t been taught in school since the 1990s. Tariffs work when you are the big dog and have the most money. Give it time. You will be astounded by the results.
