Kamala should be a very, very low bar. Why are people still fans of her?

      >Harris, the 2024 Democratic nominee, who is supported by 19% of the state’s Democrats.

That is insane. She’s #2 for Democrats.

    2. Gavin is the establishment view of what a good Democrat should be now. Gavin will do whatever the polls tell him to do, he doesn’t seem to have much integrity himself. Now, the people want someone to stand up so he will safely do so.

Kamala is just old news. No one really wants her to run again. She lost already. Get over it and move on.

Kamala isn’t running. She said so. This is a non-issue. Move it the fuck along.

Bigger question is how he polls in the Midwest.

Presidential campaigns quite literally live and die by Midwestern swings, since they’re who elects.

    5. I like Gavin and AOC doing what they are doing. Trolling Trump and making him look foolish. He and MAGA cult melt down when they talk. Prez election is a long way off. Need the house and senate wins next year.

    6. >Gavin Newsom tops Kamala Harris in 2028 poll of California Democrats

„Gavin Newsom most popular candidate amongst people related to Gavin Newsom“

„Gavin Newsom favorite Gavin running in 2028“

If the DNC tries to roll out Kamala in 2028 then I’m done lol

    8. The problem for Newsom is going to be convincing middle America that California is not a hellscape.

“Overtakes” would have maybe been better language than “tops” lol

How is Pritzker (IL gov) not considered in the polling? Seems like the PERFECT anti-Trump candidate. Far more likeable, a billionaire (deep pockets to run a campaign), has shown he can troll Trump (recall his presser a couple of months ago declaring Lake Michigan is hereforth to be renamed Lake Illinois), etc…..

Does Harris even want to run? I haven’t seen her do a dang thing since the election except promote her own book. It’s crazy that she’s still in the conversation given everything that has happened since November, which feels like forever ago.

Meaningless. It’s too far out yet. I still say I wouldn’t be surprised at a dark horse coming out of nowhere and doing well. Then again it’s not like there’s going to be any free and fair presidential elections in 2028. Because that’s not how fascism works, and until the American people get off their dead asses and fill the streets that’s not going to change. Just the way it is.

    13. If the democrats run Kamala again they’re just asking for a full authoritarian regime and the end of elections outright when she inevitably loses. I like Kamala a lot. But please. This is not the time to make history. We are barely scraping by as a democracy.

From outside, this guy looks like your best way to end the tyrants ruling (and ruining) your country right now.

I don’t care who, as long as they can win against the convicted felon/rapist and/or couch fucker.

    16. I like Newsom but he’s been vilified by the FOX news crowd for years and he would be seen among independents as left leaning Republicans as a no go. His gun control stance pretty much would make him lose any shot at getting independents to come out to the polls. Democrats vastly underestimate how bad gun control hurts them. It’s not a must have as nobody on the left would consider not voting for Democrats, but among independents and right leaning voters it’s one of the main reasons why they won’t vote for a Democrat.

We absolutely have to win the next general election and I think Mark Kelly is the absolute best chance at winning. He’s a straight, white male who was a Navy pilot and astronaut, which makes it hard to paint him as a socialist or a „beta“ male.

My personal favorite is A.O.C. but there’s no way a progressive, minority female will win in 2028. I’m hoping by 2036 that she will be able to swing an election by then.

Newsom’s recent social media activity has been a welcome breath of fresh air.

But still hoping for a Stewart/AOC ticket in 2028.

An unpopular opinion of mine is that the Democrats will not win the election with a California Democrat at the top of the ticket. The policies and experiences don’t align with the swing states of the Midwest such a Wisconsin, Ohio (meh not really a swing state anymore), Michigan, and even Non-Philly Pennsylvania.

The message to California Liberals is just simply not the same.

Newsom gets a lot of bad press on Reddit, reasonably so sometimes, but I can’t help but like that he doesn’t seem like a pushover and weak. So many democrats fight for the right things but do so in a way that doesn’t speak to average Americans at all and it doesn’t translate to them. Newsom seems capable of making the better ideas translatable.
