Bad enough for Hitler to use Jim Crow as a study for the Nuremburg laws.

You gotta admire how Yam Tits does outreach to the black community. No wonder his approval ratings are so high.

      /s just in case.

The flopsweat is pouring heavily as they scramble for things that can appeal to the Trump base.

“We recognize our history,” he told Fox News earlier this month. “We don’t erase it. We don’t follow the woke lemmings off the cliff that want to tear down statues.”

This is the same administration that complains about “…everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was..,” and yet, it wants to celebrate the very things that truly made our country horrible, once upon a time.

It’s got almost nothing to do with preserving history and everything to do with racism.

    5. The Smithsonian is a history museum. Slavery was a pretty bad part of our country’s history.

    6. I would think he and the 2025 Gestapo have been mulling this over for some time. Their most probable answer will be we can use it for all those who will not submit to the rule of the king. Summarizing,‘ how bad can it be‘. Hitler used it, his BFF pooty uses it and his other mistress Kimberly Jun-on surely uses slave labor. How many other countries on our planet use it? Too many!

    7. fleurettes_mom on

This is what Hitler did. Exactly. Change how we view actual history. Disgusting.

      >’SmithsotherHarpin, „How Bad Slavery Was“…

Says the man whose bone spurs kept him out of Vietnam. He wouldn’t survive 12 minutes a slave.

Do any shaky Tumpp supporters need anything more than this? Slavery is man’s worst injustice to fellow man, and this lumpy, stupid, lumbering, leaking body-sack of skat and lies wants OUR history museum to tell us that American Slavery was a nightly pot-luck party? Or at least that it „wasn’t so bad“? WHY?!?!

      Why?

Because they are trying to bring it back – and the dominoes are already falling

He doesn’t want to hear about other victims. He’s the only victim that counts.

Rich white people can’t even comprehend living on minimum wage, slavery is magnitudes worse so naturally they don’t get that either

Whitewash/rewrite history, you can try, but the truth always comes out! Hopefully sooner rather than we start speaking Russian.

    13. Slavery good, Confederate statues good, freedom bad.

This is 1860 all over again.

    14. KubrickMoonlanding on

There’s only one “good” thing you can about North American slavery : it was financially lucrative- but I don’t think anyone’s arguing that.

And as for museums not showing good parts about American history:stfu and release the Epstein files unredacted

    15. Exotic-Lack2708 on

They literally selectively breed black people. In some of the writings of this practice from the time, slaves weren’t just “property” but also were regarded as livestock.

    16. Literally_Laura on

You should use the word “slam” for something this shameful and embarrassing.

      Also, Epstein files. Now.

    17. Now, according to the Bible, slaves were commonly mistreated; so, God set them free. Then, He gave them instructions that if they owned slaves not to oppress them because they were likewise strangers in Egypt. It was commanded that a runaway slave be allowed to set up camp in the gate of the city wherever he felt best, and not to return him.

The fact that the Constitution includes a Fugitive Slave Clause proves that America was not founded on Christianity, but appealed to the interests of wealthy men.

The point being related by the Bible was that while it is possible to have a good master, in practice none of them were. Men abuse their property to the point where war is necessary to bring freedom. Slavery was meant to be shadow symbolism of bondage to sin versus bondage to righteousness. In either case, you are a slave to something – whether appetite, greed, cruelty, or holiness.

    18. If you haven’t seen the movie – go watch the Journey of August king.

My dad showed me the movie when I was 11 years old- it’s about a pair of slaves escaping their enslaver.

One of them gets caught. And then is hung upside down and cut in half mid sagittally with a Cleaver.

The same man that showed me this movie now wonders why i’m not conservative, and hate racists.

What a shitty worded headline.  It should be „the president attempts to compel the Smithsonian to sweep the horrors of slavery under the rug“. Or something.  „Harping“ about slavery?  Fuck off.

Grandparents — is this the kind of scumbag you want to be a role model for children in your family? editADD: is this the kind of scumbag you are going to ***allow*** to influence your grandkids?

    21. Worst prez since Andrew Johnson? Who famously took all the CSA states back without any protection guarantees for the newly freed slaves. He also opposed the 14th Amendment and was later impeached.

    22. Well, that’s what he means by MAGA, go back to a time when America was Great.

Such a wonderful time, that. /s

As hamburger juice streams down his greedy face, while sitting on the presidential toilet.

    24. Yeah, thats his complaint. Has nothing to do with his impeachments. Hoping the third one sticks. Im not a huge liberal fan but they play by the rules so its a manageable evil. Gerrymander away blue states!

    25. But don’t worry Republicans he’s definitely not a racist for thinking slavery wasn’t that bad.

    26. weberobots123 on

We need to constantly be reminded of how bad it was so history doesn’t repeat itself.

I remember reading about the holocaust and how a general mandated that photos be taken of the atrocities so the future would not forget or history be rewritten.

That is exactly what is being attempted here.

    27. flirtmcdudes on

You’re telling on yourself when you get offended by someone saying slavery was bad.

Daily reminder that the Trump administration’s attempt to revise history is just one of many steps to turn the american working class into a corporate slave caste similar to the average worker caste in China or India. Trump and his billionaire friends longterm goal is to enslave you, to make it easierto profit off of you.

    33. negativepositiv on

Slavery doesn’t seem so bad to Trump because he does not comprehend that people who are not him are actually real human beings.

    34. So is this the bat signal to all those descendants of enslaved people..? Yall ok with this? We haven’t crossed the line yet?
