Both Air Canada and CPC negotiations show government interference on behalf of employers does not stop workers asserting their rights. A focus on fairness instead of pushing gig work is a better bargain.
I think the big difference between this and the AC strike is which side the public is on. AC was fighting to drop unpaid labour, and CP wants to keep an antiquated mail system propped up. I’m pro union but Canada Post needs to be rebuilt for the digital age.
