      Dude’s never walked into a Smithsonian museum in his life. Or if he has, he remembers literally nothing about it because he was worried he would burst into flame or something the entire time. LIke, Jesus Christ, all the Air and Space Museum is a non stop barrage of „WE’RE AWESOME! TECHNOLOGY IS AWESOME! USA USA USA!“.

      Trumps executive order to the Smithsonian says the following:

      * Commands the vice president to „remove improper ideology“ from the Smithsonian.
      * Prohibits museums from funding „exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values, divide Americans based on race, or promote programs or ideologies inconsistent with Federal law and policy.“
      * „reinstate the pre-existing monuments“ of confederate soldiers
      * Ban installations that „inappropriately disparage Americans past or living (including persons living in colonial times)

      It’s very troubling revisionist history. Donald has declared all out war on public education with this administration. He’s doing whatever he can to keep people ignorant, confused, and divided.

      Please please please tell me the museum is getting the originals of the exhibits and all the evidence some where safe out of his reach. Let him burn the copies they won’t know the difference. Ship the originals, the books, the journals the accounts everything overseas to all the great museums of the world and have them protect it so he can’t delete what happened.

That was like a word that briefly made it into younger generations‘ vocabularies for like 3 months and then when old shits like Trump started using it the kids stopped.       Over the years there were a couple times I encountered people online who thought „Slavery wasn’t so bad.“ I asked them to explain their thinking, which of course was extremely racist.

      Then I’d say, „Ok let’s think some more about reviving Slavery, since it’s not so bad…but this time it’s YOUR WIFE & KIDS WHO ARE ENSLAVED.“

      Jeez, the guy was so enraged I was glad we were a couple thousand miles apart! He took it absolutely personally that anybody would dare enslave his family, even in a conversation!

      Hopefully at some point in the future it dawned on him that Slavery is equally brutal and horrific for every family.

      To conservatives, this isn’t hypocrisy, it’s pure ego. They know what they want is propaganda and they don’t care.

      To them, feeling like they live in the greatest country in the history of the world matters more than telling the truth, and they don’t care what lies they have to say to make that feel true.

      They are outright incapable of thinking about the plight of people that aren’t them, so they want history to reflect that. Supporting this is supporting an actual aspect of fascism.

      No one is arguing that slavery isn’t at the foundation of the country, but is still a bad thing and presenting it in a positive light is ridiculous, especially considering that it reasonable to think the country would be even better if slavery never happened. It is hard to doubt the civil war would have never happened at least.
