The meeting between President Trump and Ukraine’s Zelenskiy was a good save. It will be much more than that if it results in effective security guarantees and a face-to-face negotiation with Putin.
Yet nobody should be under any illusions, least of all the White House. That there is no ceasefire represents a problem and a failure.
