This is the issue. There are no random police tests. That’s why everyone on other countries don’t drink and drive, regardless of they crash they know they can get the license revoked

I am a single mother. My mother was here visiting us. It’s not something I wished to happen. Give me another chance, please! I need to raise my daughter. I will do whatever is needed,” the woman said before bursting into tears

On 1st August we called for random drug and alcohol testing:
This country has a serious problem with alcohol, lack of accountability, and law enforcement.
It blows my mind, how many times I walk past a Dave’s store or a convenient store in Swieqi, where at just after 7am, people are buying cider or beer and drinking it as they enter their car to go to work.
The first time I lived here, I saw builders at lunchtime drinking beer. That wouldn’t be tolerated elsewhere.
2 weeks ago, walking to the gym at 6:50, 3 people outside Dave’s , in Swieqi, each drinking beers and ciders, dressed to go to work. About 7 cans between them.
Friday morning, a guy looks like a construction worker and bought 3 beers. 2 were in a plastic bag, and 1 was in his hand (opened) as he was getting into his car. Then, later in the evening, a guy living Foodville (Swieqi) drinking a beer as he got into his car.
Even the young locals, you see them with open beer and cider cans in the cup holders of their cars while driving.

There’s no enforcement.
It is simply normal that people drive drunk because they are never stopped.
Police should be doing traffic stops in and out of key areas every single night. This is standard in any other single EU country.
Only here probably because it will not give votes… alcoholics will not vote labor anymore if they can’t drink and drive… But with so much bloodshed maybe minds will change… The question is how much more.
