I’m not sure he knows how to work constructively with anyone he disagrees with. He’s very a much zero sum person.

Plus I don’t think his bruised ego would allow him to work with the guy who just spanked him and stole away his childhood dream of being pm.

    2. I do not look forward to Poilievre’s return. He’s not going to change. He will not learn from his election loss. He’s going to bring back chaos to Parliament. More of the same.

The only saving grace is that Poilievre’s usual antics do not shift the polling numbers in the CPC’s favour, so they have a reason to doubt his leadership and oust him.

It’s not going to happen if he wins his seat back.
Conservatives that are not in power will always try to hamper any progress created by the other party, whether it is Liberals or New Democrats.

Poilievre has spent his entire political career being the entire opposite of that guy, and he got made leader for that same reason. If he didn’t do it to be more electable, he sure as hell ain’t doing it now; he’s gonna double down and hope Carney slips up enough to justify his attacks, and that it would make some of them stick.

But asking him to turn off his every instinct is like asking Ford to turn away a construction magnate’s money at his daughter’s wedding.

Its bizarre to expect the leader of the Opposition to sit in the house and clap for the government. If the liberals don’t like to hear criticism week in, week out, and being scolded by the leader of the opposition, then they should bring him to the table. Otherwise they are the only decision makers and they got to b scolded for their decisions.

Who’s going to believe that? Poilievre lives to be the anti-whatever the government stands for. He would complain and drag his ass on everything to „prove a point.“

    7. The entire point of being the opposition is to hold the current ruling party accountable and put their feet to the fire.

While I agree some things should get voted on regardless of political standing, it’s silly to expect the opposition to roll over for the current minority government.

Why? Carney is already acting exactly like PP man expect arguably without any of the good. Forcing strikers back to work, cutting the carbon tax and wanting to cut even more government programs.
