I’m of a mind we should start using the civil courts more frequently. I’d start suing them, hauling their asses into court and taking the few belongings most of them likely have. Don’t need prison sentences when their bank accounts are emptied and their F150s are seized.

People do this kind of stuff and then act all surprised that candidate quality keeps going down. Who wants to be in politics when you have to put up with this kind of threatening harassment.

It’s also pretty noteworthy that this type of harassment seems particularly acute towards women.

We need tougher laws against this type of behaviour. It’s completely inappropriate and corrosive to democracy.

Edit: damn a lot of you insist its your right to be harrassing little creeps to your elected officials. Yikes.

No matter the party, I think the personal home of a politicians should be off limit. People can protest in front of her office every day if they wish, but they should let her family alone.

The democratic norm I’m concerned about is the one where we don’t materially and diplomatically support a country that’s committing genocide

    5. I don’t understand the comments here. What’s the point of a right to protest if you can’t protest against unpopular government policies?

Anita Anand should absolutely have a right to have uninterrupted dinner with her family while her government continues to materially and diplomatically support a genocidal state

      The cheek of these people!

Claiming “concerns over democratic norms” rings hollow coming from „a proud veteran of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)“ who backs a genocidal Israel.

Protest all you want but when you go to someones home that’s not a protest. It’s harassment and intimidation. If they’re local and don’t like her they just had a chance to vote her out – they didn’t.
