I live in Saudi Arabia, there are diaspora from Syria (less now), Palestine, and Lebanon. So did Egypt, Kuwait, and many other countries. Gulf countries are some of the safest in the world.

There are a lot of organizations that facilitate refugee resettlement during and after wars. I have a friend that works in one in particular, and believe me, she isn’t doing it for the money. Often times you find people working in these organizations because they genuinely want to give good people another chance. It’s the same reason why you’ve seen so many refugees from Korea, Vietnam, etc. during and after wars. The western world also needs these organizations as justification for their perception of being a moral power, i.e., we bomb the bad guys and take in the good guys. Its (specifically the US) internal perception of morality is even more important than its external world image. Just look at the effects The 1972 photo officially titled „The Terror of War“ had on the war in Vietnam, or the masses learning about the atrocities surrounding the Mahmudiyah rape and killings in Iraq during that war.
