„Stephen Olson, a former US trade negotiator, told Bloomberg: “To call this unusual or unprecedented would be a staggering understatement.“

“What we are seeing is, in effect, the monetisation of US trade policy in which US companies must pay the US government for permission to export. If that’s the case, we’ve entered into a new and dangerous world.”

Peter Harrell, a former White House economics adviser under Joe Biden, added: “The US constitution flatly forbids export taxes.

Wait isn’t this that communism that Republicans always fear monger about.

    3. Hey tech World, guess supporting republicans to get lower taxes has backfired. How do you like the view on shakedown avenue?

Hello, Libertarians, and Free-Market Capitalists. Now that your favorite party, the GOP, slapped tariffs on the entire US economy and moved into the world of export taxation, do you happen to have any thoughts, or are we still celebrating our stock portfolio, at least, you know, for the time being. Thank You For Your Attention To This Matter.

    5. Not sure how this isn’t straight-up „communism“ from the perspective any fiscally Libertarian or Conservative voter.

This is literally federal oversight of a private company in a profit-sharing scheme – a hair’s breadth away from nationalization – and one of the most significant economic policy decisions in the modern history of the United States; basically what the Silicon Valley freaks accused the Biden administration of attempting, i.e. government owning and controlling AI tech development infrastructure.

This is why corporate types and billionaires supporting lawlessness is the height of stupidity.

These morons think that by making the right statements and kneeling low enough they can escape authoritarian authority.

Turns out in every single authoritarian government over the last century, the dictators will throw any billionaire under the bus if it is expedient. After all, there is no easier target to rile up the masses against than the super rich.

In case this wasn’t already clear, billionaires are among the stupidest, most delusional people in the world. If they didn’t have money they would be the types of people sending cheques to Nigerian princes.

You won’t tax them but you’ll steal from them?

      Very on brand for Trump.

      Where does the money go?

    8. This sounds like dereliction of duty to shareholders. There should be a lawsuit ASAP against NVIDIA management.

So that basically ensures that I will only ever buy AMD unless it’s included chipset in a laptop for the rest of my life

So it turns out republicans are actually the communists? Not the left?

Just thinking out loud to myself…Hmmm, what if there were an easier simpler more fair way of doing this? Like a tax. A tax on businesses that is fairly applied across all industries. Kinda like an income tax, instead of for individuals for corporations. You know, paying your fair share of taxes for the privilege of being an American company, making a profit off its society? Then again, on second thought, fuck it.

Let’s call it what it is. A kickback. A bribe. Open corruption.

Trump is just a mob boss

      “What Is a Kickback?
A kickback is an illegal payment intended as compensation for preferential treatment or any other type of improper service received. The kickback may be money, a gift, credit, or anything of value. Paying or receiving kickbacks is a corrupt practice that interferes with an employee’s or a public official’s ability to make unbiased decisions. Kickbacks are often referred to as a type of bribery.”

So basically nationalizing 15% of Nvidia.

I’ll wait for the right-wingers losing their shit of anything left of far-right to freak out.

The Libertarians have been bitching and moaning about fictional tyranny since a president of a different melanin was in the white house. Now that actual tyranny has arrived with corrupt crony capitalism and a not-so-free-market, fucking silence.

What pisses me off more is they convinced me of some of their arguments and then they just abandoned those arguments.
