      The tesla owners I know are a lot like iPhone buyers, they’ll say they like certain features of the car and that other brands ‚just aren’t the same‘

      I hate it but also understand it. Norway is the no 1 EV adopter in the world, and Tesla was a major reason for it. People will buy more European when they step up and beat Tesla at price and quality. Many Norwegians are also opposed to Chinese EVs.

      VW and related brands are doing okay, but keep in mind that ICE vehicles are a non feasible alternative here. Many other European countries still buy ICE cars.

      It’s a bit shameful imo, there are many alternatives (though Tesla gives the most bang for the buck). If its any consolation Tesla drivers are beyond terrible and it is the favored car of the useless manager type.

      this tracks – visited Norway and was surprised by the the number of people who openly expressed pretty virulent anti-immigrant rhetoric – whilst it is extremely progressive in terms of equal rights for women – it was clear to me the fascist sympathizers of WW2 just sunk back into the shadows and never went away.

      Well, maybe we should stop championing some countries as the most ethical. Money and interests will always speak louder than anything else. If people would vote with their wallets, all the billionaires would go bankrupt.

      There are a lot of idiots in this country. I make a point of showing my middle finger to every new big tesla that was bought after the sieg heiling. Every time. We used to hate Nazis in this country…

      Fuck those people. Elon Musks USAID cuts are killing 4000 people a day world wide, and these dickheads send him thousands of dollars because they want to own a newer car than their neighbour. By 2034 he will have killed an estimated 14 million people unless essential USAID operations are restored immediatly. 14 million puts him in league with Stalin, King Leopold, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao and their peers.

      Shame on them, goddamn Quislings the lot of them.

      Honestly, I do wonder how much of the sales slump earlier this year were actually the product of a boycott from buyers, or were simply other converging factors (economic or otherwise) that happened to be correlating at the same time, but were outwardly (and perhaps incorrectly all along) interpreted as being causation.

      Maybe the boycott effect was actually minimal all along and there were in fact other reasons and factors that caused the temporary sales decline. Maybe people didn’t buy Teslas for a while because they feared getting their cars keyed or windows smashed in while Musk was a negative lightning rod of the world’s attention, but no longer feel that inhibition now that he’s gone from the White House.

      Personally, I don’t think the vast majority of people ever really thought Musk was a Nazi or did a salute. I think most were just in fear of the judgment of their neighbors and waited for the scene to cool down before doing what they were always planning on doing from the beginning; buying a Tesla.
