Several established banks explicitly ban deposits and withdrawals from exchanges. Others seem to have a threshold for exchange deposits. I’ve gotten away with doing under £1k without triggering any checks. Try Revolut – it’s a bit more crypto-friendly.
You’ve definitely done something more dodgy because Monzo are crypto friendly (it’s even in their FAQ). I dunno if it’s the fact that you’ve sent more than £5k in one transaction or something. But yeah… this isn’t the norm. From the FAQ:

To be honest I’d just give them a ring and ask what the crap is going on because it looks like an automated response and that’s a lot of stuff to provide.

£6.5k straight into crypto isn’t exactly normal behaviour though? I would expect a bank to review this, could be someone being tricked into buying crypto and sending it on, as part of a scam to empty a bank account without traces.
Obviously annoying if you are legitimately buying crypto but banks do have to cover their own ass and also protect their customers

I sent an email to the CEO (you can Google for his email), sent them an official complaint via email cc’d in and within a few days it was unfrozen and I emptied and deleted the account.
This was for a transaction from my personal bank account onto my personal Kraken account. For just a deposit
Just purchase crypto using Revolut X, it’s a separate app by Revolut and it has way cheaper fees
Plus you can move the money around easier- they advertise about bank freezes if you look into it
