tldr; Brave has expanded its self-custody BAT payouts on Solana to all Brave Rewards users. This feature, previously available to a limited group, allows users to receive BAT directly to their self-custody Solana wallet address. Starting with Brave version 1.81.x on desktop and Android, users can connect their Solana wallet to Brave Rewards and receive on-chain BAT payouts. This aligns with Brave’s BAT Roadmap 3.0, emphasizing decentralization and user control. Some regional restrictions and platform limitations apply.

This is a pretty big deal for BAT users and definitely a smart move for Brave. Solana offers the speed and low fees that Ethereum’s mainnet struggles with, making self-custody of smaller BAT payouts much more practical for the average user. Nobody wants to pay a gas fee that’s higher than their actual payout! This moves BAT closer to being truly usable for micro-transactions and reinforces the ’not your keys, not your coins‘ ethos. Bullish for user experience and adoption, for sure.

    3. Is brave actually working again, last time I got a new computer and logged in, it wouldn’t let me earn rewards.
