Rewrite the rules in the Senate. End the EC and impeach the corrupt SCOTUS judges.
So Ross is calling for „new constitution“. Watch out here. The right wing has wanted a Article V convention so they can just destroy the checks in one shot. Don’t listen to anything the republicans want. Its a trap.
Given who’s in charge of everything, that would end pretty poorly for us.

I mean if you’re gonna go that far, you may as well just completely dismantle the union and rebuild new contracts between states that actually want to work together.
You can’t abolish the senate without redoing the constitution. And if you’re doing that actually you need to abolish the executive branch and make this a parliament system.

The least controversial version of this is to resize the House of Representatives to reflect population increases since 1913. 435 representatives and 435 electoral college votes is not enough to accurately reflect the diversity of a larger population. There are 3.5 times as many people as there were when the size was set to 435.
Treat the country like a unified body instead of pitting states against each other. Basically, abolish states.

I think if we’re brainstorming a new governmental system, a parliament probably makes more sense. We would stand to learn a lot from the democracies that have formed in the last 250 years.

Abolishing the Senate is an absolute must if we truly believe in being a democracy. It is deliberately undemocratic vestige created to placate the South.
Yes, let’s create a multi member proportional representation system of parliamentary government! That’s exactly what this would do. Everyone is represented and has a proportional voice in government. Crazies can’t take over and we all have to work together. It’s not perfect, nothing is perfect in this world, but this is better than the mess we have now!

Restore SCOTUS to a seat for each of the 13 Federal Districts. Rotate the judges from the districts annually.
Statehood for DC, Puerto Rico, & the Federation of all remaining territorial possessions.
End gerrymandering. Independent national commission.

We need a parliamentary democracy with actual representation based on number of people. Unfortunately, there is no way the current structure ever agrees to amend the constitution. It’s clear that the U.S. needs a divorce; states with archaic christofascist attitudes have way too much control over a majority of the population that don’t want to be controlled, scammed, and abused anymore.
The Senate could be changed in a number of ways. One way is that each state gets two senators, but for every state senator there is now also 2 proportional seats.
The Senate would then have 300 members. And the proportional seats? National vote from all states.
The house similarly have MMP but the delegation would be in each state. I think the total districts should be cube root of total population, including territories, territories get voting representation, and then you double all of that with proportional voting in each state and territory.
This ends gerrymandering having any power. It still has districts and states to have their say, but the people have final say.
Also overturn Citizens United
Enact a purge of the Republican Party. Send them to Alligator Alcatraz. America for the Yankees.
