Ain’t going to win him popularity in this state.

The MAGA camp is getting stronger up here

    2. I fully support redistricting to save our democracy. Even one seat might make all the difference for our future as a nation.

Maryland is currently 7-1, and if Democrats want they can break the eastern shore district by dividing the only big Republican county in 2 districts and making it 8-0. Considering how GOP has gerrymandered close States like North Carolina and Texas, Maryland is pretty strong Blue state, 8-0 is *fire with fire*

The game theory here is pretty clear. It’s like choosing to make your Electoral College votes winner take all vs proportional. Any state that allows their Congressional votes to be proportional will lose influence massively to those that are winer take all. So really every majority party in every state should gerrymander as much as possible, or risk becoming irrelevant.

Good. Texas literally redistricted through one building. The entrance to the building is in one district and the back is in another district. That’s not making things fair. That’s blatant separation of blue districts into Rorschach test shapes just to be racist. Nahhhhh

Edit: I initially posted „restricted“ instead of „redistricted“. Apologies.

    6. Can someone please calculate what’s the final outcome would be if both red and blue states gerrymander their state to the extremist and swing states leave unchanged?

What are the odds all these redistricting efforts don’t backfire or produce intended results?

      GOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!

      Yes, yes yes yes.

And if any “Democrats” stand in the way of this, purge their asses from the party at this point. The old guard needs to fuck off already. Really appreciate the decades of dedication that got us here, but at this point you need to give us “kids” the keys to the damn car.

Please redistrict Andy Harris out of a job!

      love, the District of Columbia

    10. My opinion is let it go off the rails so badly that both sides are forced to come up with something fair

    11. Newsom acknowledged what Dem leadership won’t; You CANT take the high road anymore.

Dems always take the high road.

Trump/MAGA doesn’t have a bottom. It doesn’t. He’s literally protecting his old friends who are pedophiles . There is no bottom.

Fox News/MAGA ecosystem personalities will ALWAYS spin why he is not bad.

Dems have to fight fire with some fire

I sure hope someone has done the math to make sure the right side wins when all states go all out on this…

    13. That’s the thing about playing the partisan redistricting game. The red states have already been gerrymandered to hell and back for two decades now, and while the Democrats haven’t been innocent in playing the gerrymander game either in the past the gerrymandering in blue states have been far less egregious than those in the red states up until this point.

If the GOP wants to play they need to realize they have far less room to work with in gaining seats than they have to lose if blue states reciprocate. The GOP’s only big seat haul is Texas, and they can’t even make that happen.

This is a losing game for the GOP, they were stupid for opening Pandora’s Box on the issue and should be begging for independent commissions to draw the maps at this point.

    14. Just fucking do it. Dont wait. Just. Fucking. Do it. The Empire is not waiting around.

    15. I’m all in favor of this specifically to throw Andy Harris‘ ass out of Congress. Fuck that guy.

    16. This feels like a weird never come back from situation we are on the edge of. Like even if Trump goes in a few years and we can restore sanity, it feels like it will be too late and the concept of actual representation will be gone forever with the extreme this is all going to get taken to.

Maryland’s 7-1 could easily become 8-0 by splitting the Eastern Shore’s lone GOP stronghold lmao. With Republicans carving up swing states like North Carolina and Texas, there’s no reason a solid-blue state shouldn’t answer in kind… fight fire with fire and lock in every seat lol

    18. thecrunchypepperoni on

Don’t even give them a warning. Just do it. If Trump didn’t have such a big mouth, that’s what would have happened in Texas. He thinks he’s a genius, though. He just had to let everyone know.

    19. I’m confused. Won’t the end result of this be that there are far more Republican seats since they will gerrymander every red state to hell and back to just keep getting more and more seats ? I am all for blue states doing this, but since many red states are larger( except Cali) won’t they just win anyway if we are in a gerrymandering competition ?
