Yes it is all his fault. It is going to get much worse too.

He just needs to fire all the statisticians, anybody who can count, and all teachers who dare to teach arithmetic basics. Problem solved – like the penguins in Madagascar 2, smashing the red warning lightbulb about empty fuel tank.
I’m not wishing this to happen but the signs are there. Average inflation has been about 2.7% year over year but as of just July it hit 3.1% as a new core rate. That’s significant and it follows a new higher than expected jobless rate. This was predicted by economists given the uncertainty from the roller coaster tariff implementations. That was based on July data but now we’re in a new territory were the tariff rates are being applied and based on Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act from the 30’s you can expect inflation to climb higher in the coming months. Probably felt just around Christmas time. Predictably, stagflation is coming and possibly recession.
Again…it’s all Trump’s fault again.

This is wrong. It’s not all Trump’s fault. This economic tailspin could be dealt with today if the GOP wasn’t full of spineless traitors to their oath. They pledge allegiance to a king, not a country.
Trump is the symptom. Not the disease. And if we keep letting the GOP hide behind whatever crack pot dictator, celebrity, or reality tv host they prop up, none of this will ever get better.

I’m building a home after a 16 month delay due to permitting issues and switching builders. Now as I review my old product selections for appliances and interior finishes which had the prices logged from about 8 months ago, many of these things were and are on sales and clearance so it looks like nothing has changed, but I’d say things are about 20-30% more expensive, with a few outliers being less or more than that figure, but so far, not one item is cheaper than it was before.
It’s anecdotal and limited to home construction finishes and appliances, but it has been very eye opening to realize that things feel normal, but in reality, inflation is sneaky for those of us who have more flexible income and don’t feel the pain on staples like gas and food.
Hey guess what? He doesn’t care! His friends don’t care! Congress doesn’t care! The 1% don’t care! All of them are well insulated from the effects of inflation. Who isn’t? The people who voted him! And they don’t care either, they still say he’s „Good For America“!

When tariffs started many (conservative) people i knew did not understand how they worked. They all took what Trump said as the truth, that the county manufacturing the item paid the tariff.
Once tariffs were a thing for a few weeks, when I asked them about it these same people blamed the past policies of the democrats for the current raise in prices. Even one of my friends who was venting that he was losing hours at work because companies were not shipping as much as before failed to draw a connection to tariffs as the cause of the problem.
Now finally after a few months of this, when i talk to them, they now understand that us Americans are paying the increase and that this increase is a direct result of the tariffs that Trump put in place. They are seeing things clearly for the first time in a long time. This clarification of the truth has been a great stepping stone if you will for bring to attention other lies Trump has said, and to reinforce how you cant trust what he says.
I was told by many republican influencers and spokesmen that paying high prices is patriotic and that I shouldnt expect to be able to afford a good christmas.

Usually the economy takes time to show the impact of a president’s policy. This time trump manages to defy the norms in the worst ways yet again. The inflation we’re facing is literally, directly, and immediately a result of his policies.
