Yes, I’m glad someone is willing to say it out loud. It’s pretty clear that the Mexican government already sees that this is the most likely strategy and is focusing on one-on-one negotiations with the US. Canada still seems to be operating in a world where we expect to have a chance of negotiating a trilateral deal next year. Mexico refusing to meet with our two cabinet minister delegation a couple weeks ago should have been a wakeup call, but I’m not convinced the message has gotten through on our side.

Carneys using CUSMA to buy us time , but he doesn’t like it at all , watch his demeanor during the Whitehouse visit and tell me you’ve seen Carney any more tense than when he brings up CUSMA in that room .

NAFTA and CUSMA are literally the heart of our previous relationship with America, economic,culturally, and diplomatically.

In my opinion, Carney was always talking about CUSMA when he said the old relationship is over .
