Are they taking the piss.
Beekeepers are understandably freaked out- entire hives have been destroyed on the continent cause of these creatures. Our bees live in quite a fragile ecosystem and if the hornet gets a foothold here, say goodbye to the lovelies.
They are way more aggressive than regular wasps, up until recently where I am, if you found a hornet nest, you had to call the fire brigade to get rid of it.

Basically they are big bastids with an orange face and legs.
