There were “tigers” that were terrorists but most were poorly trained and equipped fighters, commonly underage, fighting the better equipped 70% Sinhala majority in a civil war after years of oppression and attempts to undermine Tamil culture and language ( ie [Sinhala Only Act](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinhala_Only_Act)
Despite massacres ( including the Indian massacre), extrajudicial executions, torture, rape, genocide etc of the minority Tamil population, a small percentage of ‘tigers’ resorted to terrorism.

My point is these are complex conflicts and saying one side is good and the other are terrorist is a gross simplification.
