Will the conditions set forward by those countries be met though?
This media overload of headlines about countries recognising Palestine seem to leave the „conditions“, most of which include eradicating Hamas, in the small print.
Interesting… what are those countries that officially listed Hamas as a terroristic organization going to do? Are they assuming Hamas is going to disappear into thin air by then or are they going to recognize Palestine as a state AND a terrorist state in just one move?

i wonder who these countries are going to consider the effective government of Palestine. Fatah obviously doesn’t control Gaza, and Hamas has no control in West Bank, so who is it gonna be?
But who are they counting on to Free Gaza from Hamas?
Do the majority of countries agree on what body is the government of a Palestinian State? Do they agree on borders?

Boycotts and sanctions would have a more significant impact, but they won’t go there.
Maybe they should have done this before Hamas committed October 7th. Doing it now just supports Hamas‘ stance that killing Jewish civilians is the best path forward for their cause
That’s great and all, but „recognition“ means fuck all if there’s no help behind that recognition.

Majority of countries show Hamas that they were correct in doing Oct. 7th, and show every other terrorist group that if you kill and kidnap enough people, you can get the whole world to do what you want
Don’t know if it’s OP or Time had an oopsie and changed the title, but the vast majority of states recognized Palestine even before the war. Around 145 out of 195. This includes multiple countries that are very friendly to Israel today, like Hungary, Poland or India, who recognized it back in the 1980’s.
And let’s just say that it did not have a very dramatic effect.
Crazy how many people want another terrorist state to exist. Thank God Israel prevents this from happening.
This headline makes no sense. A majority of countries already have recognized Palestinian statehood since 1988. Up until a few weeks ago, it was 147 countries. Now it will be in the 150s. So what?
What would be the ramifications on Donald Trump domestically and internationally if many major countries recognise Palestine Under his tenure.?
Would he claim Nobel peace Prize for it or would it be considered as his biggest failure .?
How can they recognize statehood when there is no state? What are they recognizing?
In my view, the Palestinian state in some way shape or form existed before the state of Israel
From what I understand, the Balfour Declaration, was suppose to carve out bits for Israeli’s and Palestinians
And it got messed up, out of this came Israel as we know today
Israel, has a right to exist and the Palestinians have a right to a homeland like the Israelis wanted and got
