Yeah, and the patent for those water bombers is owned by one of Canada’s richest families. They literally have monopoly on the best tool to fight wildfires. Wait times for these bombers is nearing a decade long. Why the globe and mail running an ad for De Havilland, I can’t say. But any solution to the wait time involves using existing national defence technology legislation to seize the patent and get more suppliers working on building these plans, ASAP. Look at how fast Bombardier churns out private business jets and tell me we can’t have the fleet of bombers we need in no time at all. I’ve contacted my MP about this, I recommend you do as well.
