this is super interesting! consider it field research, i guess? i never would have guessed „anger“ or „hatefulness“ to be among the primary manifestations of depression, but it also seems very sensible. I wonder how gender factors into it, and how much symptoms differ between men and women. cool stuff!
We should keep in mind that frequency of reddit threads doesn’t equal frequency of depression symptoms in real life necessarily.
Oh wow that’s surprising. Especially since the stereotype is that of the sad redditor instead of the angry redi… wait it makes sense.
Usually, men are more prone to show anger or aggressivity as symptoms of depression. Reddit being mainly manly, it could be an explanation to your graph. I don’t know if subs related to such issues follows this trend though, but it could be an assumption still.
