My great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother were from Kars, they left in the 1920s. They were very young then, just married. They lived richly and had a lot of gold and jewelry, and they were afraid that if they took all this with them, they would be killed and robbed on the way, so they buried everything underground in the hope of returning soon. My great-great-grandfather often remembered his life in Kars and dreamed of being there again. He lived 94 years, but was never able to return home. However, he did not lose hope that his descendants would return. He passed on the exact coordinates of his treasure to his children and grandchildren, but his children have also died, and his grandchildren no longer remember anything.
That’s all I know. Source: stories of my grandmom (his granddaughter). I plan to go to my grandmom (she lives in another city) in a month or two and try to find some material resources in her mom’s house.

My great grandfather was from Kars, I was born after he died and my family doesn’t speak about it or rather I never asked any information. I know that he was young when genocide happened, 15 years if I am not wrong, was part of Andranik’s army and fought against turks. He and his younger brother were the only family members to survive, he lived too long for a person in that time period, born in 19th century he outlived ottomans, first and second armenian republics, got to woop my fathers ass and didn’t get to 100 anniversary by 3 years(?)
I feel that people start to forget or already forget about our heritage
