It’s common. They also sell sandwiches and meat that expires the same day for full price.
Better buy fruits directly at farmers market or Lidl and Aldi
Yeah, you always have to check
Happens everywhere. Unacceptable.
Yes. Fruits at coop suck, sometimes more sometimes less.
Welcome to Switzerland. Absurdly high prices, low quality. I switched to frozen stuff, better deals.
Yes quality is shite usually
It’s everywhere.
I always hand over spoiled or opened containers to the employees of the store.
Went back to Coop with a spoiled avocado and they swapped no questions asked. But it’s bad regardless.
Berries often spoil very quickly.
Especially if the packages have been stacked before and the mold is only in the lower ones.
Concerning the „half-empty“ one: I’d assume that the individual berries in that one are heavier. They are packaged by weight.
This is not a coop specific issue. This happens at all supermarkets.
„Region Ostschweiz“.
In retailer-speak it means anything east of Fribourg.
This is disgusting
it’s literally any shop. coop, migros, aldi, lidl, volg, they all got the same issue with fruits. it seems to be a problem since the pandemic, or at least i didn’t notice it before. these days i prefer buying and using the frozen ones.
it’s not unheard of for berries tbh. have you tried picking some yourself? they go bad within a day or two so not surprising that some go bad in the supermarket
Yep, they are shameless. I’ve brought back gone off stuff with mold all inside and they did not even remove the other ones from the shelf. They were still there days later. Zero shame or concern.
In July, the last time I went in a coop store, all (I really do mean ALL) of the tomato (it’s a fruit) varieties were out of date by a few days.
In aldi there are a few brands of berries which say when it was packaged (I think it’s strawberries and blueberries maybe). I had pretty good luck with those
