It’s one of „Their“ projects. „They“ needed public support before, so it got talked about. Since they do not now require public support or They fear people would disapprove if they knew what was happening, it gets dropped from the „conversation“. Thus, it falls out of the public consciousness.
This phenomenon exposes that the progressives do not have an inherently humanitarian view. They get outraged at the enemies they are told to be outraged over, because they care deeply about those who they are told to care deeply about.
As you can see, none of them ever seem to trouble themselves to ask, „Hey, whatever happened to that Darfur thing everyone used to talk about? Guess it must be okay or they would have said something on TV.“ No, decades into the Internet age, they won’t go looking for themselves.
And let’s be honest, those humanitarian progressives would not believe what they found even if they did. Someone should tell them Russia is to blame.
