To save you all the click, the news article says nothing… They don’t suggest or speculate on how the guy died or how or if the other person restraining him may have caused it. It’s very much a „what the headline says happened is what we know and investigations are continuing“

Gargh, positional asphyxia – a very hard thing to get right if you’ve not had any training, and even more difficult if you’re having to actively restrain.

This stuff really can go either way, but I think prosecutions of non-trained people is quite rare so long as they were broadly acting to the best they could

    3. No sympathy for violent people. Usually get what’s coming to them eventually.

Live by the sword die by the sword …
Feel sorry for the man who restrained him just a tragic accident.. now probably going through hell for stepping up to a wrong doing ..but that’s society nowadays

Unless the guy regularly goes around looking for criminals to beat up he’s not a vigilante what a disgraceful term to use.

Sad that a person probably just trying to do the right thing is going to have his life ruined because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

    7. Something similar happened to a friend of mine where him and his security team restrained someone and he ended up dying, but he was already not well/state of mind or possibly on drugs. Police also took over restraining him when they turned up and he was still alive… He died shortly after. The inquest was long….very long. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

FAFO I suppose. Shame if there are now some fatherless kids though.

I hope the hero who protected the staff doesnt have his life ruined over this. Crazy world we live in where good people are punished for protecting others. Calling him a ‚vigilante‘ here is just gross, going out of their way to try and make the guy look like a bad person for doing the right thing.

Well they got to investigate it.
I wonder what restraint method was used.

You’ve got to be careful when acting against people, as you don’t know what their health risks are and whether more harm than intended could be done. However, it’s not always easy to remember (to the point of it just not happening) to consider everything in the moment, as it’s a quick and heated moment.

And sadly this is why vigilante justice will fail. It takes one event and the government can condone all who want to stand up and help.
