This would essentially negate Texas‘ plan, which takes away 5 Democratic leaning seats.
Honestly should target the number of Dem seats that Texas is going after plus another couple.
Why stop at 5? California should be completely blue.
Why only 5? It’s completely feasible to draw a 52-0 map, which would take out 9 Republicans.
Republicans are planning redistricting, in addition to Texas 5 seats, Indiana (1), Ohio (2), Florida (3), Missouri (1). So that is at least 12 seats, at least what I know of. It shouldn’t be just California which should be looking at changing their map, Maryland, New York, Minnesota and Colorado can also create 7-9 new districts. GOP will not stop it until they start getting pressure from their congress members about losing their districts.

Matching and not escalating is how we lose in the end. It isn’t just Texas looking to pull this nonsense and Republicans aren’t going to learn some kind of moral lesson from this. They want to crush dissent permanently.
