I’m pretty sure that Portugal is the land of a setting Sun. Or California if we include the New World.
Absolutely have loved Croatia, I’ve been several times, warm and welcoming people, great infrastructure, some great beaches and some beautiful countryside to boot

Why is Japan the land of rising sun? Not looking for an argument but just curious. Simply because it’s located in the ‚farthest of the east‘ from the European perspective??
The name „Japan“ means „the root of the sun“ in Chinese. This name is based on China. If we think about it from the perspective of Japan, the „Japan“ in Japan is actually the United States.
