The US Navy currently does not have any frigates in its fleet. The US Navy retired the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates in 2015. The US Navy hopes, hopes to deploy the Constellation-class guided-missile frigate in 2029. Thus, at least with regard to frigates, Japan is considerably ahead of the United States. This is an extraordinarily impressive achievement on the part of Japan! It is great news for the Australian armed forces and the Australian Navy! Go, Japan, go! Go, Australia, go!
