It’d be interesting to come back to this in a few years and ask ‚did it do as hoped? Did it reduce the cost of drugs, or just reduce the cost of production, inflating profits while leaving costs unchanged or higher?‘
I hope for the former, but I suspect the latter. Great innovations designed to better mankind, repurposed to serve late stage capitalism.
Drug manufacturers will utilize his process to make cheaper drugs, then sell them at the same price since that is the price point the current market has accepted. Unfortunately the only people who will benefit will be the investors. You cannot innovate technology to improve capitalist society no matter how noble the intent, as proven time after time from the cotton gin to dynamite to insulin.

Everything that supposed to make things cheaper for people, end up being subverted by companies to make more money and you never see the savings.
So happy and grateful to read this. In a way it confirms some suspicions I have: there is a better way and it doesn’t take an highly venerated institution to come up with it. Cheers to you mate!
