      **Methodology:** The Representational Alignment Index (RAI) measures the absolute difference between a state’s presidential vote margin and its House delegation partisan composition. RAI = |Voter Share Difference – Delegation Share Difference|, where 0 represents perfect alignment and higher scores indicate greater misalignment between voter preferences and representation.

      **Notes:** Data reflects 2024 presidential vote percentages compared to current House delegation makeup as of August 2025. Lower scores (lighter colors) indicate better representational alignment, while higher scores (darker colors) show greater gaps between voter preferences and congressional representation.

      Something doesn’t look right. It says that the lighter colors indicate better representative alignment, but Ohio, which is gerrymandered beyond belief, is the lightest color. I also don’t know how you are dealing with states with only a single representative.

      States with only one house representative probably shouldn’t be in this. Or should at least have their own color

      Nice. I’d like to see a series of these over, say, the past five election cycles. That would be fascinating.

      This confirms what a lot of Reddit conveniently ignores. A lot of blue states are already gerrymandered, especially NY and IL
