 If [Friday’s summit ](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/four-danger-points-lie-ahead-ukraine-peace-talks-3851729?ico=in-line_link)between Russian President [Vladimir Putin](https://inews.co.uk/topic/vladimir-putin?ico=in-line_link) and US President [Donald Trump](https://inews.co.uk/topic/donald-trump?srsltid=AfmBOoo9SgREbJTHyaZ_BPN9bi1f5uFezE-phFp43wfwB2W7VRDhvhLq&ico=in-line_link) really goes ahead, do not be surprised if – upon arrival in Alaska – the Kremlin leader looks like the cat that stole the cream. 

For Putin, setting foot on American soil for the first time in a decade will be a stunning achievement, especially given the fact that the Trump administration appears to be imposing absolutely no preconditions for the meeting.

Getting to negotiate with your puppet makes things a lot easier.

I fully expect that stunt to lead to an unreasonable peace settlement amounting to a surrender for Ukraine to be „negociated“. Zelensky will of course refuse and as a result the Trump admin will call him unreasonable and retract support for Ukraine which will have been to true objective of that meeting all along. The whole thing is a sham.
