    1. The rules have changed. Republican are playing by different rules. Democrats need to use these same rules to beat Republicans. Democrats wanting to be fair with Republicans never works; Republicans are NEVER fair back to Democrats.

Anyone remember Mitch McConnell filling a Supreme Court seat for a Republican just days before an election after denying a Supreme Court seat for a Democrat for a year because it was too close to an election. McConnell was literally laughing.

Democrats crush these fascist. Play the game that Republicans are playing.

Tax the rich. Help the working class. The rich will be rich and also live in a better USA.

Gerrymander the living piss out of everything until the only thing red left in the house is the pen ink!

    3. You can’t let one team play by different rules. Or no rules. At least the Democrats are starting to grow a spine.

Dems need to organize across the US, with the goal of at least nullifying all gerrymandered Red states.

Can’t put this genie back in the bottle after Texas so blatantly crossed the line. Remove the GOP from power in the House and don’t let the fascists have a seat at the table

California holds more cards than Texas. If Texas wants to fuck around, I fully support California delivering the find out response.

Also, how hard would it be for businesses outside of Texas to just say „we don’t sell to Texas“ anymore. Make up a dumb excuse if you have to. I don’t ship to Texas. Done.

Then do it. Don’t „threaten.“ Do it. Republicans have banked and achieved so much these past few years on cowardice and slow walking from the other side. It’s time to answer their attempts to destroy Democracy.

I imagine, like every democrat that matters, it seems, it’s all bluster and they’ll still try to take the high road while the country quickens its pace towards a full blown fascist dictatorship. I’m used to being disappointed and it seems the entire globe just wants to hate immigrants or blame the „other“ and model their behavior after the worst of us.

Just fucking do it. Don’t wait. They already showed they are 100% down for ignoring the will of the people. Stop balking, stop threatening, fucking do it.

    9. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out and what kind of impact it’ll have on both Texas and California.

    10. There’s no downside to Democrats doing this except to „take the high road.“ Republicans are so proudly ignorant, they’ll never learn how gerrymandering dilutes their voting power.

    11. trump and Republicans in Congress and red states are dragging this country to hell. Will America ever return to a time when government tried to govern the country without hate?

Time to step up and be heard. There are a lot of Liberal leaders who are by out front fighting this treasonous movement. Get behind them to support their actions in anyway possible. This is our fight for a Democratic America.

Gerrymandering is about playing the margins. By shifting from 60% red (or blue)to 53% red (or blue), the risk of an upset because a shift due to change in demographics (younger people being able to vote, older people dying) is increased. Texas is taking a much bigger risk than California because of the ratio of red to blue each state is. I can honestly see a few districts in Texas flipping blue as a result of this. And I would be surprised if a district or two didnt flip in California.

Yeah, but not in time for the 2026 mid terms. They need to step up and stop playing by the rules or it’s over.

I mean, it’s over already, but still.

    15. Yes, the effects of the paradox of tolerance are in full force now. You can’t beat disinformation with facts, you can’t beat bad faith with good faith. Escalation by the using the enemy’s weapon is the only realistic path I see available at this point. As much as I love LOTR, there is no single act of selflessness that can counteract the advantage. Use the ring Isildur, I mean Gavin.

MAGA and the GOP are a cancer that needs to be burned out of our society

    17. They need to do more than “nullify” this shameless Republican trick. They need to overwhelm them! Go BIG with everything possible, otherwise the Republicans will just ratchet it up to get ahead. Get as many Democrat gerrymandered seats as possible in the entire country.

    18. Your democracy is under attack with this redistricting war. It’s no longer the electorate choosing their representatives. It’s the representatives choosing their electorate.

    19. This is what has to happen now that rules and laws no longer apply. Enough with the we go high BS.

    20. I’m hoping that these gerrymanders create a bunch of R+5 seats based on 2024 vote totals and then Republicans wake up with a shocked pikachu face in 2026 when they see that the electorate has shifted about 10 points to the left relative to 2024, and their gerrymander(s) just made an even bigger Dem blowout in the House

If democrats have an ounce of integrity they will cheat to win and then fix the system so that no one can cheat. Make the system for the people and not the politicians, corporations, and billionaires which sadly consumes both sides of the isle.

I’m thinking it’s one big racket that they just take turns on who has power and they all make money off of us taxpayers they get together later for drinks
