They never set these things up on the south coast of England.
„1500“ old pipes..that can and have already bursted… You’ll think that such important military component of UK would be maintained and financed really well, but nope..
We’ve been legally dumping massive amounts of nuclear waste in the sea until like the early 90’s. Is this worse? I guess locally.
Been saying it for years. No one with any sense eats fish caught in the area.
The thing with every leak is: How much? And which isotope?
Don’t get me wrong, they should maintain their shit, especially for these kind of facilities, but when it comes to nuclear the above question matters a lot!

If this were another kind of accidental discharge of pollution on this scale, it probably wouldn’t make the news.
It’s probably about the same threat as someone knocking over one of the dumpsters outside the back of your local ASDA.
People reflexively associate *any* quantity of nuclear material as catastrophically dangerous, when it’s really pretty much the same as everything else that occurs naturally in the world. Ubiquitous in some capacity, and the danger it poses is a direct function of how much there is of it knocking about.
UK better call daddy USA to the rescue
