Laut Rubio fielen die Gespräche mit der Hamas am Tag, an dem Macron die Anerkennung des palästinensischen Staates angekündigt hat

A bit of an obvious one but here it goes: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said hostage ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas collapsed the same day French President Macron announced France would recognize a Palestinian state.

He argued the move, along with similar threats from other countries, encouraged Hamas to avoid a ceasefire by portraying recognition as a victory. Rubio said such statements make reaching peace and a deal with Hamas more difficult.

Many in the world are currently outraged by Israel’s decision to expand the war. Which is very confusing for me.

If the western world, mainly Europe, is determined to get Hamas political achievements, of course they will refuse to end the war. As they did the day Macron decided to reward them with a state, and stopped negotiating all together.

Now what else do you expect Israel to do when they refuse to even negotiate? What do countries do when diplomacy collapses completely?
