Glad we have Donald Trump as the leader of the west. He is doing peace and trade deals everywhere. So much progress under his term

    2. I mean, if it holds, good for him I guess.

That being said, I can’t help but feel like this is either just for show or somehow Armenia is about to get stiffed.

I can’t decide if Trump’s that dumb that he’s stumbling into decisions that is accidentally hurting Russia badly or not at this point… It honestly feels like he’s literally just flipping a coin every time he does something… Either way, another two bite the dust tough shit Russia. The ol‘ Soviet reformation plan in the dumps. Fingers crossed for Georgia to flip next 🤞🤞🤞

    4. Apparently the peace deal includes an agreement to establish the Zangezur Corridor to connect Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan enclave over Armenian territory and its name will be „Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity“ (TRIPP).

    5. Objectively the peace deal is a good thing regardless of your thoughts on the mediator. (Though humourously both Pash and Ali are recommending him for the peace prize now, wouldn’t be surprised if that was the motivation for Trump)

Deal was a bit more favourable to Azerbaijan (Armenia is going to abandon their claim to Artsakh and the people who fled aren’t coming back), but given the situation on the ground that’s to be expected. The corridor is part of Armenia still and will be managed by the US, not Azerbaijan. So that works out.

Yet zero democrats and redditors talking about it

You guys are making this way too obvious

Trump is desperate for that Peace Prize. Armenia and Azerbaijan were in an extended ceasefire so this seems like it was gonna happen anyways but Trump gave them each some little favor to let him him make a big show of it. How about stopping an active hot war like Palestine or Ukraine? How much has Trump cared or talked about Armenia or Azerbaijan before this moment? Nada. This is another act at the circus

    8. This is objectively a good thing, even if Trump swooped in and is trying to take full credit at the end. As an Azerbaijani I’d much prefer American investment into this partnership than Russian

    9. Azerbaijan? The same Azerbaijan whom Trump has laundered money for in his properties for the last 3 decades? The same Azerbaijan where Trump built a massive luxury condo high rise located in an area of severe poverty and has ~15% occupancy but somehow never shuts down? Got it.

    10. Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan send a message to Putin. It didn’t matter to them who the US president was. Those two countries want out of Russia’s orbit. They hate each other but they hate Putin more. trump had nothing to do with it and I’m relieved that he didn’t find a way to screw it up.

This deal was in the works since Biden if anyone deserves the Nobel peace prize would be him he did amazing things

    12. The real opportunity recently was Syria. Despite Russia backing Assad for years and the new regime looking for an alternative, trump was caught flat footed. So now Syria is still in Russia’s orbit. Actually trump was flat footed here too. It just landed in his lap.

This is part of the bigger proxy war between the west and Russia/Iran. Taking Armenia out of Russian sphere of influence is great, Azerbaijan is no friend of Iran either keeping them on side is useful.
