If red and blue states are trying to race each other to rig the elections, what’s the point of them staying together as a single country?
If cheating is legal and your opponent is doing it, then you have to do it. There’s no second-place prize for losing elections to fascism. Your morals against gerrymandering will not comfort you when our government is stolen from us because we were unable to play the game the same way as the winners.
The entire past 8+ years is living proof that the republicans only pretended to care about the law, truth, and fairness because for a time they were in power. When that needle started to shift ever so slightly, they revealed their true fascist selves.

Red states are already heavily gerrymandered, more extensively than blue states. If Dem’s fight fire with fire (which they should), they are going to be much more effective in picking up seats.

So, the Democratic House in 2019 and 2021 passed HR 1, which sought to get rid of gerrymandering among other things.
But noooooooo too many dumb fucking voters decided to not give Democrats enough power in the Senate to pass it.
And then got upset that Democrats were not doing anything.
I don’t feel dramatic saying that if we’re just going to end up with a bunch of states gerrymandered to be 100% Republican or Democratic then the US experiment is over.

I would love for Republicans to explain why this is bad or different than what Texas is doing. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either its unlawful or it isn’t.
Gerrymander to win then create an independent elections organization like every same country.
California should not limit to ballot to 5-6 seats. They need to ask the people of California to allow full power to balance the undemocratic gerrymandering happening across all states.

It’s simple. Democrats do it worse. Now, it does happen in places like Illinois, where it’s god awful. Still, Republicans have engaged in aggressive gerrymandering in the last decade.
Additionally, they talk about it being unfair because „illegals“ are counted. Despite the fact that Texas is a home to a lot of them. For that matter, they live in red states just as much as blue states.
Conservatives are creating an inter party justification for their actions. It filled with whataboutism, racism, and clear misunderstanding of the constitution.
In short, they know they are cheating, dont care, and are pissed if Democrats strike back.
