      Is anyone surprised by this? They’re reactionaries, so they’re working down their usual hit list of people they want to oppress in order to feel better about themselves.

      The irony is that all these groups are broadly the same, regardless of culture or religion, despite being driven by this idea that *they* are special and better than other people. The same grievances, the same desire for status and power, the same lack of any socially constructive ideas, and as a consequence the same need to harm others in order to feel they’re getting ahead themselves.

      Women could not vote until 1920. These people are originalists. They want to get rid of all amendments after 10 and have said as much. This should surprise nobody.

      Not the least bit surprised. Republicans have spent decades doing everything they can to suppress the vote in America. They drool over the thought of repealing the 15th & 19th amendments, and the Voting Rights Act.

      Hell, they’ve chiseled away at the latter so much that it’s a sad shell of what it used to be.

      I’m UK based and I thought the Americans had a thing about ‚ No taxation without representation ‚ ???

      How would they justify women’s taxes going to a government they had no choice in?

      Are they planning to stop women working whatsoever? I’m just curious about how the modern economy would function with only males working outside the home?

      Is the plan that woman have 2 or three kids when young, then do nothing but fun hobbies once the kids are grown while their husband slaves away in a job he may or may not like for decades supporting his wife to go to lunch with her friends? Seems really unfair to men ?

      You Americans realize they are not planning to give up power, like ever, right? You will not have a free and fair election again. These people are acting with impunity, moulding the government into their fascist image, redesigning and restructuring everything from official departments to golden ballrooms. They are not doing all this, going through all this trouble, and expecting to lose an election in 3 years. They know how unpopular all this is and they are doing it out in the open. Every lazy coverup, every pathetic excuse. They know they won’t face consequences at the ballot box.

      Hegseth wants to get out of the SecDef hotseat, this is a great time for him to say some advanced 2025 plan stuff, Donald will be fine if he goes and also gives people something to talk about besides Epstein. This is a wonderful opportunity to him.

      50% of the votes for Hitler were from women, and it was known that the Nazi Party platform wanted to remove their vote.

      And 45% of women voted for Trump, despite his sexual assault conviction and despite the anti-abortion policies.

      Fascism holds an appeal to women, not just men.

      It’s a good thing the economy is improving so much that men can afford to take care of us incompetent women in a single-income household. /s

      I grew up insulated in a fundamentalist evangelical world that heavily promoted these ideas. Even then (80s-90s), most families couldn’t actually afford the „utopian“ vision unless they were subsidized by church offerings or owned a business and used their church affiliations to expand a customer base. Despite that reality, they sure messed with a lot of kids‘ futures by making it seem more realistic than it is and has long been.
