The hostages are not coming back and Netanyahu knows it.
Even if Israel announced a ceasefire now to negotiate with Hamas, Hamas would only agree on terms favorable to them. So that they come out better than they were before October 2023. They would upgrade demand after demand, not give the hostages back. For each agreement that Israel would agree to, Hamas wants more. Hamas may claim that there would be peace with a ceasefire but there really wouldn’t.
This is just so sad

Evacuate, to where? Israel controls all access in to and out of Gaza.
