If Republicans can do it, that is essentially saying Democrats can do it.
Don’t like it? Blame Republicans.

Words like „threaten“ or „prepare“ are worthless. Why „prepare“ or „threaten“ anything. **Just do it.** Let’s wait to see whether Democrats actually successfully gerrymander districts to disadvantage Republicans, or are the Democrats just weak.

Wonder what/if Project 2025 had a plan to prevent DEM lead states from doing this while allowing GOP lead states to.

Has anyone done the electoral map to see if all the red and blue states do this, who wins?

Honestly, it feels too little too late. Republicans have been doing this for ages now and democrats are playing catch up on a 40 year delay. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it, I’m just saying I wish we had a party willing to fight as hard for us as the republicans fight for their own power. It feels so late in the game now. Better late than never I guess. We need better, guys. Now more than ever.

Right? Dems need to do it so hard that they pick up an amount of seats republicans can never hope to recover from as a consequence to their actions. Tired of the “they go low, we go high” strategy. All that does is lose when your opponent has no ethics or conscience.

We’re already so Gerrymandered nationally that over 90% of all House races are considered „Safe“ for the incumbent party. Most states are lucky if they have 1 actual competitive seat.
If Texas moves forward with redistricting plans and triggers a few states to follow suit, it could actually present an opening for an opportunistic 3rd party to focus on only the 50 most competitive seats nationwide with a goal of forcing all legislation from either side to go through a „reasonable“ block of representatives who don’t take corporate money and aren’t beholden to the whims of the RNC/DNC.
More state level disenfranchisement is not the the answer and it sucks that we’re focusing on blue team / red team instead of rich assholes vs the rest of us.

Democrats had better vote no on the budget and shit the government down unless an amendment is in it to mandate all congressional districts are drawn by and I dependent body one every 10 years after the census.

So far every move this government is making is exactly in lock step what the Mafia does, down to every detail. Strong arm , tribute, punishment, instruction.
The only way out is just the way we get rid of the Mafia . Get their leaders fighting among themselves act like it’s leaked info., stop or short or delay the money input. Informants and information to head off the supplies and construction of their edifices. Flat out describe to the judges that this is a criminal organization and show how it is under RICO act.

Forgive me if I remain skeptical.
I’ve seen a lot of big talk, but not much in the way of action by Democrats in the Trump era. They allowed Merrick Garland to just let this piece of shit to go free after he TRIED TO OVERTHROW THE 2020 ELECTION, all in the name of trying not to appear „too partisan.“ Meanwhile, the GOP just does whatever the fuck they want to do, because they know there will be no consequences.
Democrats are trying to remain bipartisan thinking the GOP has ever operated in good faith. They’ve been working on this for decades, and the Democrats A. allowed it to happen and B. refuse to meet the moment in its present form.
If anything has become abundantly clear in this era of American politics, it’s that the voters are tired of nothing getting done that helps them. They are tired of money in politics. They are tired of the status quo. They are just too ignorant at who to blame it on historically. Both sides deserve some blame, but swing voters only look at who is in office right then, and how it affects their lives during a 4 year period, even if the reason they are suffering is because of policies the Republicans have implemented for decades.
Democrats think we are still in the Clinton era, because that’s when a lot of the „leadership“ came up. They refuse to believe we are in a whole other era. The Trump era. There is no bipartisanship with fascists. You eliminate them like the cancer they are, or you die.
