Yes, you will.
This is legal in the Netherlands?
Do not enter Germany with that on, you will get yourself into a world of trouble.
That’s a Paulaner Spezi Front glass!
You won’t make it far into Germany with that.
Illegal!
Front screen, co Driver Seat Window and Driver Window are not allowed to be covered with any screen etc. that is not 100% clear.
It’s to prevent others from getting more blinded than expected and to prevent you running a Red light or a Speed cam and not be identifiable through the cameras.
Having driven in both the US & Germany, I can say you are a lot more likely to get pulled over for cosmetic things like this in Germany. I would have it removed or drive a different car.
I imagine if something like this were legal in Germany I would have seen it on some car already but I have never seen anything coming even close to that. And that really stands out.
It seems driving a car is apparently easier than using Google and chatGPT for 20 seconds.
If this car is legal in NL, you will be allowed to drive it in Germany.
However, you’re more likely to get pulled over and it could happen that police will give you trouble for it.
I wouldn’t even try that, the Polizei are going to have a field day unfortunately even if it’s legal to drive in NL. We had our back window and back passenger windows tinted and have to carry a certificate, anything forward from the B pillar is highly restricted and the wind shield is a no go
Not allowed, of course. And it looks like … well, what’s the dutch word for the things that drop out or horses?
Why do we have the European Union if we don’t have consistent rules for traffic and vehicles? I understand different rules for stuff that doesn’t cross the border or hardly crosses it but at least for vehicles and traffic rules and law should be very much similar to avoid conflicts like this.
So I read some stuff and technically as long as your car is registered in the netherlands and you are a citizen of the netherlands you should be allowed to drive like this.
The main issue is that if the police or whatever government official is responsible for you car at the place you were stopped considers the tint „not safe for driving“ you are not allowed to drive on german roads unless you remove the tint or prove that it is allowed in the netherlands and is no safety risk.
You will definitely be stopped though, no cop in germany will pass up on that opportunity.
It’s hard to say, some car forums say it’s no problem, others say it’s illegal, you’ll have to ask a lawyer for this one or just risk it. Worst case is ~110€ fine and you’ll have to remove the tint film before you are allowed to drive any further.
I’m seriously wondering where and how is that legal?
Also, you may want to ignore Switzerland too, in case you were planning to visit. Or at least seriously check before crossing the border.
Lol, No
I am here in comment section to see if someone mentioned exact § StVO article for this matter. Join me if you also want to see :D. bring your own coffee bitte.
ski aggu has gone too far
Different question, yes this is illegal in Germany
But does it matter?
If it is legal in the Netherlands, doesn’t the German police have to accept the road worthiness of another EU country?
Just from a theoretical point of view
No, this is absolutely illegal, the max. legal limit for this are only for the upper 10cm of your windshield.
Your Windshield and front side windows may not be tinted at all.
StVZO Artikel 30 is against your car, you’ll run into many problems.
It’s an aftermarket tint on your front windscreen. That’s not allowed unless it’s a really small stripe at the top for sun protection.
This reminded me of the OEM tint in the glass which you can only see when you use a polarizing filter on your camera lens or on your glasses. But I don’t think that I have ever seen it in this colour combo
„Hey, dude, I think it’s totally cool! Not everyone recognizes me with a foil like this and in case of an accident or the police… I’ll just say I wasn’t in it.“ /s
Yes, we have strict no fun allowed policies that need to be enforced at all times.
lmao
