Anyone with half a brain cell could tell that was a pig
The problem is that these fact checks are never read by the people who need to read them.
The idiots who saw this on social media and were told it was a dog just took it as gospel; they won’t be looking for anything that debunks this belief.
I find most things on Facebook to be utter hogwash..
See we’ve reached Ohio levels of bullshit
Hopefully not one elected individual or anyone hoping to is stupid enough to reiterate this nonsense.
Another part of me wants them to and then wants to see this countries reaction as I know it would be hilarious and they’d never live it down
Edit: misinformation was double speak
I remember when a Chinese restaurant in my village closed down. Everyone said it was because they found dog meat in the takeaways. Apparently that was easier to believe than the recession slowing down orders and needing to close due to financial stress. People will believe whatever they want to feed their own racism.

Weirdos for getting hung up on what species it is anyway.Â
For some reason most people are absolutely fine with the idea of eating abused pigs on a daily basis, but look down on others who eat dogs.Â
It’s the same fucking thing.Â
That’s clearly not a dog but someone roasting a pig over an oil drum at Dorset Street flats does not a community event make.
The Facebook posts don’t really clarify anything but it seems like some lad just spit roasted a pig and called it a community event.
Those pig eating Muslims strike again.
Oh FFS. It’s the same shit as in America.
ThEy’Re eAtiNg tHe DoGs!
I’ve already seen crazy shit in Whatsapp groups, talking about someone walking around town brandishing a sword (this is a small, rural town), yet no one saw him and no mention of it afterwards. Or likewise warnings about some creep hanging around a school or playground, but yet again no one in the group saw or heard anything, just passing on a message (from Facebook etc.)
Does the far right genuinely believe that we (the general public who donât support them) will fall for disinformation/outright lies so easily?
So it’s ok to kill and eat a pig but not ok to kill and eat a dog ?
The giant captions obscuring everything are a big help in making it clear it’s a pig
Minor gripe, but hate the way these simpletons word their posts. Why do they all sound the same.
That would have been one well fed dog
I live in England and during the course of my workday I meet a lot of people. Barely a day goes by without someone bringing up âwhatâs happening in Irelandâ.
It seems Ireland has joined Sweden in having rampant misinformation spread about the effects of immigration. Sometimes this takes the narrative of âblonde/red haired natives being replaced by dark skinned peopleâ.
Itâs a lie that travels well and is lapped up by the British and Americans.
Something about the closeness of Ireland – physically or culturally – makes it familiar to them. But the distance or their ignorance means it can be misrepresented easily.
This is great for vested interests who want to exploit the situation. And is supported, directed and bankrolled by those vested interests.
Itâs astonishing and terrifying how quickly itâs taken hold.
You should have to pass a test to use the Internet
Since my last comment was removed I’ll rephrase,
This BBQ doesn’t look like it’s up to the standards I would expect if I attended a BBQ in Ireland.
Even if it was a dog, so what.Â
What do people think hot dogs are made of!!?
„They’re eating the dogs“. And the other day, drag-queen storybook sessions in a library in the north and protestors outside. Don’t know why we have to import stupid US culture wars. We should at least be original.
