Well yes, that’s not news.
Contagious diseases spread faster in areas where people are not vaccinated for it. That has been known for decades, even centuries. Just like with COVID, it is especially dangerouns in places where people think that a low density of population will protect them when it is actually the opposite: people lower their defenses because they are not surrounded by others, they don’t get vaccinated but eventually contracts it from someone who had the disease or inversely infect someone else because they had it.
The problem now is what Isaac Asimov called more than 40 years ago „The Cult of Ignorance“, where he said the problem stems from some people believing that „my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.“
Vaccines have made their proof of being effective more than 200 years ago with Smallpox. Now is not the time to go back in a „Middle Ages“ time where beliefs take over scientific facts.
